Our dedicated supporter and volunteer Charity Champion, Tom Williams,
has taken on a very special run with others in memory of Callan Rogers and to raise awareness for testicular cancer.
On the 27th July, Tom led a 10k run around London to remember a very special person and friend, Callan Rogers. Callan sadly passed away from testicular cancer last year. The run provided an opportunity for those who wished to gather together to remember him and to help raise awareness of testicular cancer, which included his family and friends. Our CEO Toby Freeman also joined Tom and the team in the #RunForCal 10k.
Callan was vocal about his experience with testicular cancer and recorded a video with us to help other people affected. Unfortunately, he passed away a few months later, but his family kindly gave us permission for this video to be shared and make a real difference to others. You can watch Callan's Story here.
The run has already raised an outstanding £1300, but Tom's dedicated efforts aren't stopping there.
As a Charity Champion, Tom has taken on the Leeds Marathon, trekked up Snowdon, taken part in our Pants to Cancer Walk many times, held an awareness day at a rugby club, volunteered at many of our events, and has also shared his story to help us save lives.
And on the 31st of August, Tom is traveling across the world to Australia to take part in the Sydney Marathon to raise all-important funds for The Robin Cancer Trust. To show your support for Tom, donations can be made to his Just Giving page here.
We hope you'll join us in supporting Tom in his inspirational efforts, as we wish him all the best for his upcoming challenge.
