The Robin Cancer Trust were proud to be chosen as one of the charity partners of the Colchester Half Marathon 2016 – and our amazing #TeamRCT supporters once again showed why they are the absolute best!
Over 30 runners took on the (half) marathon task of 13.1 miles, wearing our ‘proud member of #TeamRCT’ runnning tops on the day – every one of them doing us proud by raising awareness and funds for our life-saving germ cell cancer awareness campaigns. At the time of writing, they have raised an incredible £3,000!
Alongside our runners, a further 30 #TeamRCT supporters braved the frosty morning air to volunteer as event-marshals, helping to keep the public safe and cheer on the runners (having run the half marathon myself, I can assure you, their cheers were much appreicated!)
As always, I couldn’t be more proud of everyone involved in this event – from the runners, the marshals and our volunteers working behind-the-scenes – the support we received was humbling.
#TeamRCT are the heart of The Robin Cancer Trust. They keep us moving forward, whether that’s 13.1 miles around Colchester, or pushing our campaigns forward online and in our communities, I can’t thank them enough.
